Skilled Regional Subclass 887 Visa
The Skilled Regional, Subclass 887, Visa, is a permanent visa for people who have lived and worked in designated regional areas of Australia while holding an eligible visa.
You must have lived in a specific regional area of Australia for at least 2 years, and worked on a full-time basis for not less than 12 months.
It is a requirement that you complied with all the conditions of the eligible visa you held. Eligible visas include the Skilled Regional (Provisional), Subclass 489 Visa.
Further criteria include meeting health and character requirements. You may be ineligible for this visa if you had a visa application refused or a visa cancelled while in Australia.
If granted a Skilled Regional, Subclass 887, Visa, you will have permanent resident status in Australia. You may then live, work, and study anywhere in Australia. As a permanent resident on a Subclass 877 visa, you could also sponsor eligible family members for Australian permanent residence, as well as apply for Australian citizenship provided you are eligible and meet required criteria.
